If t years earlier the father’s  age was x times that of his son. At present the father’s age is y times that of his son. Then the present ages of the son and the father are
t(x-1)/x-y and y[t(x-1)/x-y] respectively


Eg: The age of the father 3 years ago 7 times the age of his son. At present the father’s is five times that of his son.What are the present ages of father and son?
Ans:
Son’s age=3*(7-1)/7-5=9 years

Father age=9*5=45 years
